MAHAKALA EMPOWERMENT
Saturday, April 25, 2015, 2:00 p.m.
Please arrive by 1:45 p.m.; late entries will not be admitted.
$25 general ($20 KDC members)
It is also customary to make a donation to the empowering Lama.
Receiving this Empowerment of the Six-Armed Dharma Protector (Gonpo Chakdrukpa) authorizes one to do the Mahakala practice, which is part of the regular KDC schedule. Mahakala is essential for those who practice Vajrayana Buddhism because it pacifies obstacles that arise on the path and interfere with keeping Vajrayana commitments. This Empowerment is rarely bestowed in the West. Since it is not known when this Empowerment will be given again, you are encouraged to participate at this time.
The Refuge Vow is required and will be offered by Lama-la prior to the Empowerment.
MAHAKALA TEACHING AND PRACTICE
Sunday, April 26, 2015, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Please arrive by 8:45 a.m.; late entries will not be admitted.
$30 general ($25 KDC members)
Pecha (Practice Text) $10
The practice of Mahakala is important for those who practice Vajrayana Buddhism because it pacifies obstacles that arise on the path and interfere with keeping Vajrayana commitments. It is said that instructions on the Mahakala practice must be given by an authentic and qualified Vajra Master. This is a rare opportunity to receive these teachings on a practice that is essential for those committed to Vajrayana Buddhism. Participants must have received the Mahakala Empowerment.
Please note: You are welcome to bring a lunch and stay during the mid-day break. To minimize the Center’s impact on our neighborhood, please park on West Amazon and walk up hill to KDC. Also, due to many people’s allergies and sensitivities, KDC is a fragrance-free zone.
